Bedford Borough Council will be holding their public consultation between 19th October 2015 – 14th December 2015.  This eight week window is your opportunity to comment on the following:


(i)       A vision for the plan and supporting objectives.

(ii)      Levels of housing, employment, and retail growth along with the future of the town centre in general.

(iii)     The plan’s spatial strategy – in other words where development sites will be located.

(iv)     A development site selection methodology, explaining how the council will choose development sites from those submitted by land owners, developers and others with an interest in land.

(v)      A local green space selection methodology, explaining how the council will choose local green spaces for inclusion in the local plan.

Works start at Fields Road / Bedford Road / Cranfield Road / Church Road Junction

December 2015 Uncontrolled pedestrian facilities are to be installed at the junction to provide safer places to cross the road(s). Click to see footpath plans on junstion
January - February 2016 A new footway link will be provided from Cranfield Road into Church Road and the footway on Hall End Road will be widened to improve pedestrian routes to Wootton Upper School.
February 2016 - ? The existing junctions of Fields Road/Bedford Road/Cranfield Road/Church Road are to be converted into a double mini-roundabout. This will result in some road closure(s). Click to see plans of double roundabouts
