About the Council
The Parish Council is the first tier of Local Government and exists to represent the interests of the Parish. There are fifteen Parish Councillors who are elected every four years. The position is purely voluntary and attracts no payment. The Parish Council employ a Clerk who implements decisions made by the Council and provides independent, objective and professional advice, information and administrative support to the Council.
Councillors as at January 2010 are David Price (Chairman), John Wheeler (Vice Chairman), Claire Bennett, Tracy Corby, Steven Cruse, Judith Cunningham, Bill Hall , Kay Lynch, Paul Prescod, Steven Rouse, Paul Quirk, Bob Wallace, Maurice Woolfenden and Karen Wright.

Parish Council meetings are held on the second and last Wednesdays of each month at the Memorial Hall on Bedford Road.
The Annual meeting and Parish meeting is held on the second Wednesday in May. There are nine full Parish Council meetings per year.
There are three Committees (Leisure and Amenities, Planning and Environment, Communications and Finance and General Purposes) which meet throughout the year. A full list of meeting dates is given on the Council Meetings section of this website. Agendas for these meeting are displayed on the Parish Noticeboards and on this website (go to Parish Documents and follow the links to the appropriate meeting) four to six days before each meeting. Minutes and other papers relating to the meetings can also be viewed on the Parish Documents section of this website.
Council and Committee Meetings are held in the Memorial Hall, Bedford Road, All meetings are open to the public and include an 'Open Forum' where Wootton residents can address the Council on issues relating to the village.
